Pickles

Anyone who has eaten a meal with me knows I love pickles. Sweet, dill, hot and spicy, you name it, I'll eat it. I have been known to eat pickles and cheese for lunch on occasion. After I do this, I always wonder, what have I done to my insides? I'd imagine pickles are somewhat acidic, since they are preserved and all, so I wonder - does eating half a jar of pickles damage your insides? I've never felt any ill effects from eating half a jar of pickles, but maybe I've just grown accustomed to it. I don't know. But it's something I was thinking about today, since I stopped by the grocery store on the way home from the library and picked up one of those big dill pickles from the deli barrel. I used to love those when I was a kid, and I still do. :) Alton Brown made pickles like that the other day, and I wanted one, but since it was 11 at night, I wasn't really interested in going out to buy one or the ingredients to make one. But soon, very soon, I'm going to have my very own barrel of pickles. :)

Things I learned in Chambana Part 2

I eat more than 3 servings of Cheerios in one sitting.
The Hampton Inn does not actually offer a shuttle to campus and buses run on limited schedules on Sundays.
The Subway in the train station is closed on Sundays.
I really like Youth Services classes, but I'm nervous about limiting myself to one type of librarianship.
Mozilla does not think that librarianship is a word.
Three days straight of class from 9-5 does not make me happy.
Oreos taste yummy at 10am.
So do M&Ms.
Show librarians to-be some free books, and they're like piranhas.
Everyone should learn how to use computers.
I have a really big laptop. Which is great. Until you walk 3 miles carrying it around.
I like Chicago.
Buses make me nervous.
I like *some* sushi.
There is someone else out there who likes old cookbooks and food history.
I miss my kitty when I am not home.

Stephen King reads books in between the innings of Red Sox games.
Some people really hate princess books.
Coraline is a pretty freaky book.
Grab a book by its ears, not its head.
Don't ask a question without nudging Syed first. He might be asleep.
Storytelling is a class you should take, even if you can't.
I love children's books.
The Amtrak train is always half an hour late.
I am very dependent on my cell phone.
I am allergic to the Hampton Inn.

I still have one more day, so stay tuned....
