Wyoming Libraries

Ok, even non librarians should be interested in the Wyoming Libraries' new ad campaign. Cowboys riding books, mud flap girls, the space shuttle. You name it. I highly recommend browsing around. I'd also like to hear everyone's comments. Would you want to visit a library that advertises like this? Does it appeal to you? Or would nothing get you into a library?

Atomic Fireball

In a previous post or two, I'm sure I've mentioned my love for Ferrara Pan, the candy factory in Forest Park, IL. Since I'm no longer driving by the factory everyday, I have been missing my favorite candies. So when I saw a Ferrara Pan Atomic Fireball in my coworker's candy jar, I had to try it. I remember eating fireballs when I was a kid, but I have no idea whether they were "atomic" from Ferrara Pan. All I have to say is that this fireball was far more fiery than I remember. It actually made me cry! So, unless you are a true fireballer, watch out for the atomic fireballs!

Potty

I wonder how many times the word "potty" is searched in a library catalog. The reason I wonder is because I searched for it yesterday. Why, you ask? Because I was writing a paper and was curious about books about teaching your kid to go to the bathroom (aka "potty training" which is what I searched). Potty is normally not a word adults use, and yet there I was typing potty into a library catalog. Of course, the technical search term is "toilet training," but isn't "potty" much more fun?
