There is a mosquito outside my window

I kid you not. It is November 14, and a mosquito just landed on the outside of my window. How is it still alive? Shouldn't it have frozen to death by now? Is this just another example of a superbug? Should I run outside and try to kill it to protect humanity from an infestation?

It flew away, so I guess it's safe to wreak havoc on mankind.
